Alex’s Cupcake Wars – Bat Mitzvah Photography Minneapolis

Bat Mitzvah Portrait

Alex’s big weekend started on Friday afternoon at the family’s synagogue with a busy, yet fun portrait session.  We started outside with some cute, playful shots of Alex with her brother, little sister, mom and dad.  Moving inside, we got some great shots of Alex up on the bimah with the Torah.  Then we gathered around the whole crew of extended family who were in town, for some fun family photos.  It was a good time.

Sunday evening was Alex’s party at the Five Event Center in Minneapolis.  It’s a great space with two levels and the ladies from Amy Zaroff Events had the place looking awesome for the impending Cupcake Wars!  Laurie and Joe from Cocoa and Figwere Alex’s special guests for some great cupcake decorating entertainment.  After a little social hour down stairs where desserts were the hors devours, the kids got teamed up and headed up stairs for the big competition.  Laurie and Joe got the kids set up with cupcakes and decorating goodies and the kids went to town.  It was very fast paced and exciting to see the great ideas and wonderful theme-based designs the kids came up with.  My personal favorite was the Pot-o-Spaghetti cupcake.  After each team picked their representative cupcake and placed it on the judging table, it was dinner time.

After dinner, Ross and the A-List crew took the party reigns and fired up the dance floor for an evening of dancing.  Off in the corner the Mobile Photo Wall guys were doing the photo booth thing, too.  With games and dancing the place was hoping all night long.  The kids had a great time helping Alex celebrate her Bat Mitzvah and the party was the perfect icing on the cupcake.

Mazel tov to Alex and her Family. Enjoy the photo video of the party.  Then follow this link to see all the great photos from Alex’s Bat Mitzvah.

Mira Loves New York! – Bat Mitzvah Photographer Minneapolis

Bat Mitzvah Photography

I had the pleasure of capturing Mira’s portrait bright and early before her Bat Mitzvah service a few weeks ago.  She’s wonderful young lady and was very easy to work with.  We got some great photos with her and her family.

Mira’s Bat Mitzvah celebration that evening had a Big Apple vibe.   The evening started out with hors d’oeuvres in common area.  Sarge and his squad from Level 11 lit up the dance floor like Times Square and moved everyone into the ballroom to keep the evening rocking.  Mira and her friends kept busy on the dance floor while the adults continued to socialize.  The Traveling Photobooth crew was there too, working their magic as always.  A little speech from Mira’s parents lead into dinner and then the adults started to infiltrate the kids on the dance floor.  After a wonderful hora with the family, Mira’s Candy Bar was open and kids young and old got their fill.  I had a great time and I think Mira and all her guests did too.

Maddy’s Sweet Celebration – Bat Mitzvah Photography Minneapolis

Bat Mitzvah Photography Minneapolis

Maddy’s Bat Mitzvah celebration was a sweet one.  I had the pleasure of photographing Maddy’s portraits earlier in the week before her Bat Mitzvah.  She is fun young lady and we got some great photos with her and her family.

It was another busy weekend and special thanks go out to my good friend Myron for doing a wonderful job of capturing Maddy’s party at the Marriot West.  David and and the crew from Level 11 Events were on hand keeping the party rocking all night long.  The dance floor was a busy spot with games, dancing and a classic Hora to cap off the evening.  Great food and a huge chocolate fountain all helped make Maddy’s night a sweet celebration for friends and family alike. Mazel Tov to Maddy and her family.

Enjoy the video and photos.  To view the all the photos from Maddy’s Bat Mitzvah here.

Sally’s Bat Mitzvah – Bat Mitzvah Photographer Minneapolis

Bat Mitzvah Photography

Sally celebrated her Bat Mitzvah in grand Olympic style at the Calhoun Beach Club a few weeks ago.  It was a bit rainy that evening so we couldn’t enjoy the great terrace overlooking Lake Calhoun.  Fortunately, the ballroom was wonderfully decked out with colorful flags from around the world and other Olympic decore.  The place looked great and so did Sally.  After some family photos to start the evening, Sally’s guest arrived and the party started rolling.  Dancing and Olympic competitions kept the kids busy on the dance floor while the crew from Get Flipped Minnesota was doing their cool photo booth back in the corner.  After dinner Sally had her grand entrance which lead into a candle-lighting ceremony.  She invited all her close friends and family up to help light her 13 candles. Once the video was finished the DJ shook up the crowd and got everyone up for a fun Hora.  It was a wonderful night and Sally was in true Olympic form.  I’m sure the judges would have given her a 10!

Mazel Tov to Sally on her Bat Mitzvah.  Enjoy the video and then follow this link to see all the great photos from Sally’s Bat Mitzvah weekend.

Zach’s Marvel’ous Mitzvah! – Bar Mitzvah Photography Minneapolis

Bar Mitzvah Photography Minnesota

Oak Ridge Country Club was the center of the super-hero universe last weekend for Zach’s Marvel’ous Mitzvah.  After a portrait session on Friday at their synagogue, I joined the family Saturday night to help capture the fun evening they had lined up for friends and family.  The ballroom was decorated to the nines with some of Zach’s favorite superheroes, and custom-wrapped candy bars greeted his guests.  David, Sarge and the crew from Level 11 were in the house too, keeping things lively on the dance floor.  After a great horah, things quieted down with a very nice candle-lighting ceremony honoring all the special people in Zach’s life.  It was a great dancing crowd with lots of adults getting in on the action, making for some great photography… and with some fabulous donuts on the dessert bar, how could you go wrong!  There were two photo booths for everyone to enjoy from Clix Studios which were staying very busy.  The night slowly wound down with games and a mother-son dance.  It was a fantastic evening for all and we got a ton of great photos.  I tried to fit as many as I could into the video, so I hope you all enjoy it.
