Celebrating a simcha with Maya’s family is always a good time and Maya’s Bat Mitzvah was no different. We had a fun portrait session with family on Thursday morning and then got ready for the big event on Saturday night. And big it was. Amy and Allison from Amy Zaroff Events + Design had the place looking fantastic despite the not so cooperative weather. Tent in the front yard, food and socializing in the house and the Total Entertainment crew down in the gym spinning tunes for the kids. It was fun and games for the first hour or so ’till Havdallah and everyone was ushered in to the tent for little surprise.
Okay, not so little…. how about the Maccabeats! Yes, the Maccabeats strolled right into the tent to the delight of everyone, especially Maya. The next hour was a ton of fun as everyone joined in singing their favorites with guys from Yeshiva University. Kids and adults with huge smiles on their faces, acting like the Beatles just showed up. After the show the Maccabeats joined Maya and her friends for a big group photo and a quick photo op with the family. They put on quite the show and left the kids buzzing. The evening rounded out with a fun video and a huge group Hora. Like I said, it’s always fun celebrating with Maya’s family.
