During the Covid pandemic I’ve had the pleasure to help some families celebrate their special occasion in very unique and intimate ways. Olivia’s bat mitzvah was one of them. Just family and the rabbi in their back yard and it was one of the more wonderful events I’ve been a part of. We started with some family photos around the yard of their home and then to the back yard we headed for show time. Olivia did a fantastic job of reading and teaching from the Torah as her family looked on. Even the family dog could look on from the doorway. It was a beautiful way to spend a warm summer evening.
